In trichoscopy, hair and scalp structures are visualized and measured at high magnification. This is used as a method of diagnosing hair loss disorders and assessing efficacy of hair loss therapies.

Using hair and scalp diagnostic software, we can estimate hair density and diameters in different zones of the scalp, as well as hairs distribution in follicular units. Other functions include mark ups for “perifollicular signs” such as ”yellow dots” which reflect delays of new hair growth phases.

When comparing the detailed reports before starting and after completing hair loss treatments, the efficacy of a treatment can be determined with more accuracy than traditional before and after photos.
